The highly successful design of the stair installation as part of the project ‘Let’s Intervene’ prompted the collaboration between the Interior Design Students of Frederick University and Urban Gorillas a Non-Governmental Organization based in Nicosia, Cyprus that is run by urban enthusiasts who envision healthy and socially inclusive cities during their funded research project entitled Green Urban Lab.

The Green Urban Lab (GUL) project was an initiative to regenerate public spaces in Cypriot cities. The initiative took place during 2014-15 where its main goal was to aid regeneration by raising awareness on the importance of public spaces, which is lacking from Cypriot urban culture. Following an experience design approach, the main design tool adopted for the realisation of this mission was a giant inflatable which acted as a catalyst for social and spatial interactions.

During the planning of the GUL the students of Frederick designed and installed tape pathways to playfully encourage users into the spatial setting. The tape installation saw various groups playfully interacting with the design, whilst additionally alerting and encouraging the public towards the overall event.
